The Austin Packers volleyball team was on the road to Rochester Tuesday evening for a Big 9 Conference match with the Mayo Spartans, who are one game behind Northfield atop the conference, and although the Packers played a strong match overall, the Spartans proved to be too much in the end on their home floor in a 25-17, 25-17 and 25-17 win.
Isabella Bolster led Austin offensively Tuesday night with seven kills, plus she added one dig and four blocks, Aggie McKichan tallied six kills, one dig and four blocks, Quinn Osgood put down three kills, plus she added one set assist, one ace serve and nine digs defensively, Kathryn Crouch totaled two kills, seven digs and one block, Nora Sand chipped in two kills for the Packers Tuesday evening, Alia Retterath tallied one kill, five digs, and she led Austin in set assists with 12, Haleigh Holman tallied four digs and nine set assists, and Kristen Neilsen led the Packers in digs Tuesday evening with 15.
With the loss, Austin is now 2-3 in the Big 9 Conference and 10-9 overall on the sesaon, and the Packers will kick off a two-match homestand Thursday night as they play host to the Mankato West Scarlets, with the varsity match scheduled to start at 7:15 p.m.
