Austin Packers volleyball team falls to Rochester John Marshall 3-1 Thursday evening

The Austin Packers volleyball team was at Rochester John Marshall High School for a Big 9 Conference match versus the Rockets Thursday evening, and it was the Rockets winning in four sets 25-22, 25-20, 14-25 and 25-22.

Katherine Crouch led Austin offensively with eight kills, plus she also put up one set assist, served up a pair of aces and added 21 digs defensively, Quinn Osgood contributed six kills, two set assists, two ace serves nd 17 digs, Nora Sand tallied four kills and two ace blocks, Isabella Bolster and Ava Denzer each registered four kills, four digs and one ace block, Alia Retterath chipped in three kills, one ace serve and five digs, Haleigh Holman led the Packers in set assists with 11, plus she added eight digs and one ace serve, and Kristen Neilsen served up one ace and led Austin in digs with 34.

With the loss, the Packers are now 2-4 overall on the season, and 0-1 in the Big 9 Conference.  Austin returns to action Saturday in a six-team invitational hosted by Maple River that will also include Martin County West, Redwood Valley, Sibley East and St. Charles, with the action scheduled to start at 8:30 a.m.
