The Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms boys basketball team, unbeaten and rated No. 8 in the state in Class A in the latest poll from the Minnesota Basketball News kicked off a three-game homestand Monday night versus Gopher Conference rival Medford, and it was the Blossoms lighting up the scoreboard to the tun of a 51-8 lead at the half on their way to an 80-17 victory.

Gabe Hein poured in 23 points to lead the Blossoms offensively Monday evening, while twin brother Zack drained three of BP’s eight 3-pointers on his way to 20 points, Brady Kittleson was also in double figures in scoring with 10 points, Cooper Cooke totaled nine points, Ty Forystek drained a pair of 3’s for six points, Kolby Vigeland chipped in five points, Brad Boyd swished a 3-pointer for three points, and Jacob Pauly and Gabe Staloch each scored two points in the lopsided win.

The Awesome Blossoms are now 15-0 on the season, and Blooming Prairie returns to action at home tonight (Tuesday) versus Gopher Conference rival Hayfield, with the varisty tip-off at 7:15 p.m.
