Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms cross-country teams compete at 10-team NRHEG Invitational
The Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms cross-country teams competed at the 10-team NRHEG Invitational Tuesday, and it was the boys team taking third, and the girls squad finishing fifth.
Will Sunde led the Blossoms boys team for the fourth meet in a row with a 15th place finish at 20:03. Breckin Cochlin was 16th overall with a final time of 20:09, and teammate Ty Forystek finished 18th with a time of 21:03. Isaac Fort finished 29th for the Blossoms with a time of 21:40, and Derek Kubicek was 30th with a final time of 22:23.
For the Blossoms girls team, Gloria Hernandez led the way for the girls with a sixth place finish, as she posted a time of 21:54. Head Coach John Bruns stated that Sophia Esplan had a career best run and finished 17th overall with a time of 24:43, a personal best for Esplan by nearly two minutes. Eighth graders Bella Romeo and Haley McIntosh made their varsity debuts Tuesday, with Romeo finishing with a time of 26:04, good for 28th place, and McIntosh finished with a time of 26:35, which was good for 32nd place, and Anna Haberman was 49th for the Blossoms Tuesday with a time of 29:55.
