In a game you heard on AM 1480 KAUS Friday night, the Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms girls basketball team was looking to snap a two-game losing streak as they played host to the Cardinals of Faribault Bethlehem Academy, and a 19-1 run for the Blossoms that spanned from the first half into the early stages of the second ultimately proved to be the difference in a 52-43 Blooming Prairie win.

The Blossoms gave up only one field goal to the Cardinals in the first half and led by as many as 21 in the second half, and although the Cardinals were able to chip away at the lead, the offense of Shawntee Snyder, who scored a team-high 21 points, mostly out of the low post, and several second-chance points for the Blossoms off of offensive rebounds enabled the squad to hold FBA at bay for the win.

Macy Lembke was also in double figures in scoring for BP Friday night with 12 points, including two 3-pointers, Addison Doocy totaled eight points, Claire Schwarz tallied five points, Sienna Fyksen scored four points, and Ella Smith chipped in two points in the win.

The Awesome Blossoms are now 14-8 overall on the season and 8-6 in the Gopher Conference, and the club returns to action Monday evening in Medford for a conference matchup with the Tigers, which is a make-up from a previous date.  Tip-off will be at 7:15 p.m. Monday evening.
