After going 2-2 at the United South Central Invitational over the weekend, the Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms volleyball team was back on the road in a non-conference match with Dover-Eyota Tuesday evening, and although the Blossoms were missing starters Addison Doocy and Claire Schwarz due to illness, Head Coach Gina Hendrickson reported that the squad rallied together and put up a good fight before falling to the Eagles by scores of 19-25, 21-25, 25-18 and 22-25.

Ella Smith and Annaka Forsberg both tallied six kills to lead the Blossoms offensively Tuesday evening, with Smith adding four digs, five blocks and one ace serve, and Forsberg adding four digs and a team-high nine blocks.  Brianna Deplitch totaled four kills, 12 digs defensively, three blocks and two ace serves, Macy Lembke put up a team-high 20 set assists, plus she added two kills, a team-high 13 digs and three blocks as well, Layla Lembke tallied two kills, 12 digs, one block and two ace serves, Sam Hefling served up a pair of aces and added 11 digs Tuesday evening, Madelyn Harvey chipped in 10 digs defensviely and added one ace serve, and Catelyn Bartlett also tallied 10 digs Tuesday evening.

With the loss, the Blossoms are now 0-5 in the Gopher Conference, and 4-13 overall on the season, and Blooming Prairie will stay on the road for their next match in New Richland Thursday evening versus NRHEG in the Gopher Conference, with the varsity action scheduled to start at 7:15 p.m. that evening.
