Bobbie Bruns tallies career-high and record-breaking 37 points in 59-48 Blooming Prairie win over Randolph Tuesday evening

The Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms girls’ basketball team was on the road at Randolph to take on the Rockets in a Gopher Conference tilt Tuesday evening, and despite the Rockets sinking 10 3-pointers, Blossoms guard Bobbie Bruns scored a career-high and record-breaking 37 points to help lead BP to a big conference win on the road 59-48.

The Blossoms led 30-20 at the half and Coach John Bruns stated that although Randolph shot the the ball well, especially from behind the 3-point arc, the Blossoms post players did a great job limiting looks and second chances inside.

The 37 points for Bruns was not only her career-high point total to this point, she also broke the school record for most points in a single game.  Bruns also supplied six assists and five steals in the win, plus Haven Carlson was also in double figures in scoring with 11 points, Chloe McCarthy and Shawntee Snyder each scored four points, plus McCarthy added a team-high five steals, Anna Pauly tallied two points and Macy Lembke scored one point for the Blossoms, who move to 4-1 in the Gopher Conference and 7-5 overall on the season with the win.

Blooming Prairie returns to action at home Friday night against Faribault Bethlehem Academy, with the varisty tip-off scheduled for 7:15 p.m.
