Officials with the city of Rose Creek have announced that the city has experienced a loss of water pressure due to a water main break, and because of the loss of pressure, they added that contamination could have entered the city’s drinking water distribution system, and there is an increased chance that the drinking water may contain bacteria that could make residents sick.

Repair crews are attempting to locate and repair the break, and until the repairs are enacted and the city’s distribtuion system is flushed and bacteriological samples are collected, city officials have issued a boil water advisory, as citizens of Rose Creek are required to not drink, brush teeth or cook with tap water without boiling it first, or to use a safe alternative such as bottled water.

More information and updates on the situation can be found on the city of Rose Creek’s Facebook page at facebook.com/cityofrosecreek.
