The Austin Packers baseball team was on the road at Bell Field in Faribault Thursday for a game with the Falcons that had been postponed from Tuesday due to inclement weather, and it was Faribault pushing across a run in the bottom of the eighth to win in extra innings 3-2.

Teyghan Hovland provided a strong start on the mound for Austin as he gave up two runs on 10 hits in seven innings of work, striking out ten and walking no one.  Ian Bundy was tagged with the loss for the Packers, as he pitched 2/3rds of an inning, giving up an unearned run on one hit.  Hunter Nelson earned the win on the mound for Faribault as he pitched the first 4 1/3 innings, giving up no runs on no hits, striking out six and walking seven.

With the loss, Austin is now 1-2 on the young season, and the Packers are back in action in Red Wing on Saturday for a doubleheader, with the first game set to start at 12:00 noon.
