The CMAs last night started with a Loretta Lynn tribute featuring Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, and Reba McEntire. They each did a little bit of a Loretta song and then teamed up on “Coal Miner’s Daughter”.

Cody Johnson got a well-deserved standing ovation after singing “‘Til You Can’t”. Expect to be seeing quite a bit of Cody in the next few years, after becoming the first artist since 2018 to be nominated for Male Vocalist of the Year and New Artist of the Year (Luke Combs).

It was GREAT to see the return of Jo Dee Messina, who joined Cole Swindell for a surprise duet of “She Had Me At Heads Carolina”.

Miranda Lambert was locked in, delivering a rock solid bluesy performance of “Geraldine” and Carrie Underwood gave it everything she had for “Hate My Heart”.
