In a game you heard on AM 1480 KAUS, the Lyle/Pacelli Athletics boys basketball team, the No. 12 seed in the Section 1A tournament traveled to Spring Valley to take on Southeast Conference rival and No. 5 seed Kingsland, and it was the Knights coming out ready to roll in front of a packed house on their home court as they jumped out to an 11-0 lead and never looked back from there as they downed the Athletics 72-56.

The Athletics had three players in double figures in scoring for the game, including forward Dylan Christianson, who logged 16 points, five rebounds, and all three of LP’s blocked shots in the game, Chase Bauer totaled 15 points, a team-high eight rebounds and two assists, Landon Meyer scored 11 points, plus he added seven rebounds and team highs in assists with three, and steals with two, Isaac Nelsen tallied seven points and six boards, Andrew Frederick drained a 3-pointer for three points, and Marshall Burma and Jack Klingfus each scored two points apiece Thursday evening.

With the loss, Lyle/Pacelli’s season comes to an end with a record of 13-15, while the Knights move on to play No. 4 seed Southland, as the Rebels blew past 13th seeded Wabasha-Kellogg 70-40 Thursday evening.  The two teams will meet at the Mayo Civic Center Auditorium Monday evening at 7:30 p.m., and you’ll hear the game live on AM 1480 KAUS.
