After a 17-day layoff over the holiday break, the Lyle/Pacelli Athletics boys basketball team played host to defending Section 1A champion Spring Grove in a Southeast Conference tilt at All Saints Arena Thursday evening, and it was the Lions jumping out to a 13-0 lead and never looking back from there on their way to a 59-38 win.

The Athletics, who were without leading scorer Landon Meyer due to injury Thursday evening were led by senior guard Chase Bauer, who drained four 3-pointers on his way to 14 points, plus he added nine rebounds, four assists and one steal, Dylan Christianson tallied a double-double with 12 points and a team-high 13 rebounds, plus he also blocked all four shots registered by LP in the game, Leland Hicks scored five points, Andrew Fredrick swished a 3-pointer for three points, and Marshall Burma and Isaac Nelsen each tallied two points in the loss.
