Lyle/Pacelli boys’ basketball a 71-61 winner at Grand Meadow Friday evening

The Lyle/Pacelli Athletics boys’ basketball team traveled to Grand Meadow to take on the Superlarks in the second meeting of the season between the two squads, and it was the Athletics shooting a blistering 58% from the field (30-51) on their way to a 71-61 win and a sweep of the regular season series.

The Athletics, who led 40-30 at the half were a white-hot 26-41 shooting from inside the 3-point arc for 63.4%, and they were led offensivley by junior guard Buay Koak’s 29 points, eight rebounds, one steal and two blocked shots, Jake Truckenmiller tallied 20 points, seven rebounds and team highs in assists with seven and steals with six, Trey Anderson added eight points, three rebounds, three assists and a steal, Mac Nelson also scored eight points, and he also chipped in five rebounds, four assists and a steal and Landon Meyer, Hunter Bauer and David Christianson all scored two points apiece for the Athletics, who stay a half-game ahead of Southland atop the West Division of the Southeast Conference at 10-1, and they are now 14-3 overall on the season.  With the loss, Grand Meadow is now 5-6 in the conference and 9-9 overall on the season.

Lyle/Pacelli returns to action Saturday night at home in a non-conference tilt with Fillmore Central at 7:45 p.m., while Grand Meadow is off until next Tuesday evening when they play host to Lewison/Altura in a non-conference game as well at 7:15 that evening.
