MDH records 82 additional COVID-19 cases in Mower County Tuesday for cumulative total of 5,691

Mower County logged 5,517 confirmed and 174 probable COVID-19 cases Tuesday for a cumulative total of 5,691 since the onset of the pandemic, a jump of 82 from Monday, according to statistics released Tuesday by the Minnesota Department of Health.  Health officials added that 46,404 healthcare workers in the state have now tested positive for the virus, and over 665,300 people have now been reported as no longer needing isolation.

Olmsted County recorded 16,057 cumulative cases Tuesday, a rise of 181 from Monday, Steele County reported 5,107 cumulative cases Tuesday, up 79 from Monday and Freeborn County now has 4,338 cumulative COVID-19 cases, up 36 from Monday.  Dodge County confirmed 2,457 cumulative cases Tuesday, a rise of 35 from Monday and Fillmore County recorded 2,002 cumulative COVID-19 cases Tuesday, up 34 from Monday.

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 6,352 positive COVID-19 tests in the state Tuesday for a cumulative total of 690,391, and they added that 18 additional COVID-19 related deaths were recorded in the state from Monday to Tuesday for a cumulative total of 8,011 since the onset of the pandemic.  A total of 36,973 COVID-19 patients in Minnesota have required hospitalization since the start of the pandemic, and 7,512 of those patients have required treatment in intensive care units.
