Mower County records 4,705 cumulative COVID-19 cases for second straight day Tuesday

Mower County logged 4,575 confirmed and 130 probable COVID-19 cases for the second straight day Tuesday for a cumulative total of 4,705 since the onset of the pandemic, according to statistics released Tuesday by the Minnesota Department of Health.  Health officials stated that 42,872 healthcare workers in the state have now tested positive for the virus, and over 596,200 people have now been reported as no longer needing isolation.

Olmsted County recorded 13,406 cumulative cases Tuesday, a rise of five from Monday, Steele County reported 3,978 cumulative cases for a third straight day Tuesday and Freeborn County confirmed 3,471 cumulative COVID-19 cases for a second straight day Tuesday.  Dodge County now has 1,878 cumulative cases, down one from Monday and Fillmore County recorded 1,576 cumulative COVID-19 cases Tuesday, which was unchanged for a third straight day.

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 80 positive COVID-19 tests in the state Tuesday for a cumulative total of 604,687, and they added that one additional COVID-19 related death was reported in the state from Monday to Tuesday for a cumulative total of 7,550 since the onset of the pandemic.  A total of 32,536 COVID-19 patients in the state have required hospitalization since the start of the pandemic, and 6,603 of those patients have required treatment in intensive care units.
