Mower County Sheriff’s Office investigating report of items stolen from building on property near Lyle

The Mower County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a report of items being stolen from a building on a property located near Lyle.

A Mower County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to a burglary report on the afternoon of Saturday, July 24th from a property owner at 11829 505th Avenue near Lyle.  Upon arrival, the deputy spoke to the property owner, who stated that a building on his property had been broken into within the last two weeks, and a gas powered Honda weed eater and two small electric heaters had been stolen.  Chief Deputy Sheriff Mark May reported that the deputy checked the building and noticed pry marks on the door frame, and damage to the door from being forced open.  

May stated that the value of the items stolen was estimated at $480, and he added that the investigation into the theft is ongoing.
