One person was killed and another was injured in a two-vehicle accident on Interstate 90 in Freeborn County Thursday evening.

The Minnesota State Patrol reported that a 2001 Chevy Silverado pickup being driven by 54-year old Bradley Duane Helin of Buffalo Center, Iowa, and a 2001 Freightliner semi being driven by 60-year old Melisa Ann Keiser of Enid, Oklahoma were both traveling westbound on Interstate 90 at approximately 8:11 p.m. Thursday evening when the vehicles collided on the snow and ice-covered road at mile marker 154 in Manchester Township.  The State Patrol indicated that Helin’s vehicle came to rest in the center median, while the semi being driven by Keiser rolled onto the driver’s side, and came to a rest on the median shoulder and westbound lane.

Helin was killed in the accident, while Keiser sustained non-life threatening injuries, and she was transported to Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Albert Lea for treatment.  The State Patrol indicated that both parties involved in the accident were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.
