Overby Orthodontics Prep Athlete of the Week named!

Congratulations to this week’s KAUS Overby Orthodontics Prep Athlete of the Week, Ajiem Agwa of the Austin Packers girls baskeball team!

Agwa, a junior guard who is averaging 23,1 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 4.9 steals per game became the 11th player in the program’s history to reach 1,000 points Tuesday evening, as she banked a runner in off the glass in the second half of a Big 9 Conference matchup with the Mankato West Scarlets for points 999 and 1,000 for her career.  Agwa, who needed 14 points coming into the game to reach the 1,000 point plateau wound up with 26 points for the night to help lead the Packers to a 66-47 victory, and she now will try to eclipse the all-time program record for most points in a career, which is currently held by Hope Dudycha with 1,657 career points.
