In Southeast Conference boys basketball you heard on AM 1480 KAUS Thursday evening, the Southland Rebels, the No. 13 team in the state in the latest Class A poll and in first place in the conference’s West Division played host to defending Section 1A champion and No. 3 ranked Spring Grove in front of a capacity crowd at the Southland High School Gym, and Rebel guard Noah Bauer’s 3-pointer with 1.3 seconds left capped off a 7-0 Southland run to end the game and gave the Rebels a 52-50 win, their second of the season over the Lions.

Forward Sam Boe led the Rebels in scoring Thursday evening with 15 points, high-scoring forward Nick Edland totaled 13 points, Bauer wound up with 12 points, guard Jonas Wiste tallied seven points, and guard Gavin Nelson added five points in the win.

The Rebels are now 17-3 overall on the season with the win, their fifth in a row, and they stand at 14-2 in the conference.  Southland returns to action right away again tonight (Friday) as they travel to Glenviille to take on Glenville-Emmons, with the Southeast Conference matchup set to start at 7:15 p.m.
