Stewartville man pleads guilty to felony criminal sexual conduct charge

A Stewartville man who sexually assaulted a 14-year old girl at a house party in Grand Meadow on September 17th, 2022 is pleading guilty in Mower County District Court.

During a plea hearing Friday, 20-year old Trenton Charles Robert Erickson was convicted on a felony charge of 3rd degree criminal sexual conduct, penetration, victim 14-15 years of age, actor more than 24 months older.  Erickson originally pleaded not guilty to not only the felony 3rd degree criminal sexual conduct charge on October 2nd, 2023, but also to an identical felony charge for 3rd degree criminal sexual conduct, penetration, victim 14-15 years of age, actor more than 24 months older.  Sentencing for Erickson in the case in Mower County District Court has been scheduled for May 17th.

Erickson was previously convicted and sentenced on August 4th, 2023 to 10 years of supervised probation after pleading guilty on April 21st, 2023 to a felony charge of 3rd degree criminal sexual conduct, penetration, victim 14-15 years of age, actor more than 24 months older after raping a 15-year-old girl at the same party in Grand Meadow on September 17th, 2022.  A 36-month prison sentence was stayed for 10 years if Erickson complied with the 24 different conditions of his probation, and another felony charge of 3rd degree criminal sexual conduct, penetration, victim 14-15 years of age, actor more than 24 months older the in the case against Erickson was dismissed with his guilty plea.
