Three children injured in one-vehicle accident on Interstate 35 in Freeborn County early Friday morning
Three children were injured in a one-vehicle accident on Interstate 35 in Freeborn County early Friday morning.
The Minnesota State Patrol reported that a 2004 Isuzu Axiom being driven by 41-year old Mizrain Mejias Conde of Houston, Texas was southbound on Interstate 35 near milepost 2 at approximately 12:20 a.m. Friday morning when his vehicle left the snow and ice-covered road and collided with the median cable barrier and rolled into the left lane for northbound Interstate 35 in Freeman Township.
Three passengers in Conde’s vehicle, including 6-year old Mariangel Mejias Ramos, 12-year old Maviam Mejias Ramos, and an infant, Marioangel Mejias Ramos, all of Houston, Texas all sustained non-life threatening injuries, and all three were transported to Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Albert Lea for treatment, while Conde and another passenger in his vehicle, 35-year old Maria Ramos Abreu, also from Houston, Texas were both uninjured.
The State Patrol indicated that all parties involved in the accident were wearing their seatbelts, and the Glenville Fire Department assisted the State Patrol at the accident scene early Friday morning.
