Zack Hein breaks three school records in one game; Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms roll past Alden-Conger 91-43 Friday evening
The Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms boys basketball team, ranked No. 7 in the latest Class A poll from the Minnesota Basketball News was looking for win number five in a row Friday night as they played host to Alden-Conger in a non-conference matchup, and it was a game for the ages for senior guard Zack Hein as he broke three school records in the game, including most points in one game (50), career 3-pointers (172), and most 3-pointers in one game (10) as the Blossoms trounced Knights 91-43.
The Blossoms led 53-22 at the half, and besides Hein’s record-breaking performance, twin brother Gabe Hein added 20 points, Brady Kittleson was also in double figures in scoring with 14 points, Dylan Anderson tallied four points, Kolby Vigeland scored two points, and Jacob Pauly chipped in one point in the lopsided win.
Blooming Prairie is now 22-2 overall on the season, and the Awesome Blossoms will be back in action in Hayfield Tuesday night versus the Vikings in the Gopher Conference, with tip-off at 7:15 p.m.
