The Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms boys basketball team, the No. 6 team in the state in Class A in the last poll from the Minnesota Basketball News and the No. 1 seed in the Section 1A tournament played host to No. 17 seed and Gopher Conference rival Bethlehem Academy in  the tournament’s second round Thursday evening, and senior guard Zack Hein reached the 1,000 point milestone for his career in his final game on his home floor as the Blossoms downed the Cardinals 65-43.

Hein drained four of BP’s six 3-pointers in the game on his way to 17 points, Cooper Cooke tallied 11 points, Gabe Hein and Brady Kittleson each scored 10 points apiece, Gabe Staloch drained a pair of 3’s on his way to eight points, Jacob Pauly chipped in seven points, and Kolby Vigeland scored two points in the win.

The Blossoms will carry a 26-2 record into the quarterfinals next Monday as they will take on No. 8 seed Kenyon-Wanamingo at the Mayo Civic Center Auditorium at 6:00 p.m., and you’ll hear the game live on AM 1480 KAUS, with the pre-game show on the air at 5:45 p.m., and tip-off at 6:00 p.m.
