40 additional COVID-19 cases recorded in Mower County by MDH Wednesday for cumulative total of 8,252

Mower County logged 7,971 confirmed and 281 probable COVID-19 cases Wednesday for a cumulative total of 8,252 since the onset of the pandemic, a rise of 40 from Tuesday, according to statistics released Wednesday by the Minnesota Department of Health.  Health officials stated that the total number of positive cases for the duration of the pandemic, including reinfections in Minnesota now stands at 1,049,310, and over 1,005,213 people have now been determined as no longer needing isolation.

Olmsted County recorded 25,375 cumulative cases Wednesday, up 67 from Tuesday, Steele County reported 7,673 cumulative cases Wednesday, up 15 from Tuesday and Freeborn County confirmed 6,486 cumulative COVID-19 cases Wednesday, a rise of 23 from Tuesday.  Dodge County now has 4,016 cumulative cases, up eight from Tuesday and Fillmore County recorded 3,479 cumulative COVID-19 cases Wednesday, up four from Tuesday.

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 4,149 positive COVID-19 tests in the state Wednesday for a cumulative total of 1,032,397, and they added that 71 additional COVID-19 related deaths were recorded in the state from Tuesday to Wednesday for a cumulative total of 10,671 since the onset of the pandemic.  A total of 51,323 COVID-19 patients in Minnesota have required hospitalization since the start of the pandemic, and 10,053 of those patients have required treatment in intensive care units.
