Arctic Blast and Major Winter Storm Expected This Week
Winter weather is beginning to play a role in travel conditions and holiday activities leading into the Christmas weekend .
A Winter Storm Watch has been issued by the National Weather Service from midnight Wednesday through 6 AM Saturday.
Blizzard conditions possible. Snow accumulations of 4 to 6 inches possible through Thursday night. Winds could gust as high as 55 mph.
Hayfield schools have already cancelled classes for Friday.
The projected temp at Friday morning pick up is -40 windchill would trigger a 2 hour late start. With Christmas Break starting on Friday I want to give parents & students the opportunity to plan accordingly, so I am cancelling school for Friday Dec. 23rd.
