Austin Packers boys’ tennis falls at Red Wing Tuesday 5-2

The Austin Packers boys’ tennis team hit the road for a Big 9 match with Red Wing Tuesday, and it was the Wingers coming out on top on their home courts by the score of 5-2.

The Packers picked up wins from Joey Schammel at first singles, as he defeated Nathan Farrar of the Wingers in straight sets 6-2, 6-1, and from Cole Hebrink at second singles as he was also a winner in straight sets over Red Wing’s Graham Achen 6-4, 6-4.

Austin will now be off until next Tuesday when they will play host to Winona at the Wescott Tennis Courts, with the action starting at 4:30 p.m.
