After a week-long layoff, the Austin Packers girls golf team returned to action at the Austin Country Club Tuesday in a Big 9 Conference triangular with two of the top teams in the conference, Albert Lea and Owatonna.   Albert Lea took the team competition with a total of 337, 14 strokes clear of second-place Owatonna with a 351, and the Packers finished with a team score of 361.

A very young Austin squad was led by 8th grader Ailani Thiravong,who carded an 83 Tuesday, sophomore Izzy Sellers fired a round of 88, 8th grader Sydney Lewis finished with an 89, sophomore Anna Kossman and 8th grader Lucy Annis both shot a round of 101, and 8th grader Reagan Harty carded a round of 106.

The Packers are right back into action today (Wednesday) as they travel to Willingers Golf Course in Northfield for an 11-team invitational including the host Raiders, Albert Lea, Blaine, East Ridge, Eastview, Lakeville North, Lakeville South, Shakopee, Wayzata and Woodbury, with the teams teeing off in a shotgun start at 11 a.m.
