Blooming Prairie baseball blanks Schaeffer Academy 14-0 in five innings Tuesday
The Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms baseball team was looking to get on the winning track at home Tuesday in a non-conference matchup with Schaeffer Academy, and it was the Blossoms rolling to a 14-0, five-inning win.
Jacob Naatz led the way for the Blossoms at the plate in the win as he went 2 for 3 with a double and four RBI’s, Luke Larkoski was 1 for 2 with two runs knocked in, Alex Miller was 1 for 3 for Blooming Prairie with a triple and a RBI, Charlie Heimerman went 1 for 4 and knocked in a run and Chris Naatz helped his own cause on the mound by going 1 for 3 at the plate with a double and two RBI’s.
Naatz pitched the first three innings for the win as he blanked the Lions while allowing only one hit, he struck out seven and walked only one batter. Luke Larkoski pitched an inning of scoreless relief and struck out one, and Dylan Johnson also pitched an inning of scoreless relief, striking out two and walking one.
With the win, the Blossoms are now 1-5 on the season, and they return to action Thursday for the second game of a three-game homestand against Waterville-Elysian-Morristown, with first pitch scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
