Mower County records 56th COVID-19 related death Tuesday, 219 additional cases for cumulative total of 8,211

The Minnesota Department of Health reported Tuesday that Mower County has recorded its 56th COVID-19 related death in an individual 60-64 years of age.  The county also logged 7,936 confirmed and 275 probable COVID-19 cases Tuesday for a cumulative total of 8,211 since the onset of the pandemic, a spike of 219 from Monday.  Health officials stated that the total number of positive cases for the duration of the pandemic, including reinfections in Minnesota now stands at 1,045,170, and over 1,000,003 people have now been determined as no longer needing isolation.

Olmsted County recorded 25,308 cumulative cases Tuesday, a rise of 155 from Monday, Steele County reported 7,658 cumulative cases Tuesday, up 87 from Monday and Freeborn County confirmed 6,467 cumulative COVID-19 cases Tuesday, a rise of 81 from Monday.  Dodge County now has 4,008 cumulative cases, up 17 from Monday and Fillmore County recorded 3,475 cumulative COVID-19 cases Tuesday, up 11 from Monday.

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 16,204 positive COVID-19 tests in the state Tuesday for a cumulative total of 1,028,549, and they added that 36 additional COVID-19 related deaths were recorded in the state from Monday to Tuesday for a cumulative total of 10,600 since the onset of the pandemic.  A total of 51,145 COVID-19 patients in Minnesota have required hospitalization since the start of the pandemic, and 10,017 patients have required treatment in intensive care units.
